If you have a sweet tooth, this recipe post is for you! I indulged in making TWO tasty treats to test and share with my co-workers. Since they gave both recipes some rave reviews, I am now sharing with you! Today’s inspiration comes from Gooseberry Patch’s Fun Fall Foods. I made Homemade Caramel Corn and Pam’s Banana Split Brownie Pizza! I am handing you a virtual napkin to wipe that bit of drool off your chin, haha! Here we go…
Homemade Caramel Corn
I’ve never made my own caramel before, so this was an experience for sure! When I initially read the recipe, I was wondering if it would be similar to the White Chocolate Crunch that I made a few weeks ago. It wasn’t. In my opinion, this caramel corn was way better. A bit more time consuming, but better!
My advice:
Put parchment paper in the pan! Also, I preheated the oven when I started to make the caramel. Not sure if preheating really makes much of a difference in a recipe like this, but most other oven recipes typically call for a preheat!
Parchment paper isn’t mentioned in the directions and I wondered if I should put something down, but ultimately I made the wrong decision. I didn’t have parchment paper on hand anyway. If you saw the teaser post on our Instagram and Facebook, then you know I had a real mess after it was all said and done. It was hard to get the bottom layer of popcorn out to transfer it to another container. I had to soak the pan for awhile to get the more stubborn pieces out and to get rid of the caramel. But everyone really liked it, and probably wishes I made a bigger batch! So the hardwork during the clean-up at home, was worth it! 😊

Pam’s Banana Split Brownie Pizza
YOU GUYS!!! OH. MY. GOSH. This is one of the best things I have ever made. Brownies are my absolute favorite! And I love banana splits. So when this didn’t win the poll for what my co-workers wanted me to make, I decided to make it anyway haha!! I’m not sure who “Pam” is in the recipe name but…THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS AMAZING DESSERT!
My advice:
Break out the hand mixer for this one. I guess it’s implied considering the ingredients you are mixing to make the “frosting” but don’t get your hopes up that you can do it without one.
Also, you don’t need a pizza pan, so don’t let that hinder you if you don’t have one. I made it in a small glass dish and it was the perfect size for our team here at KP Creek.
