We’ve all seen something in a magazine or online that we wish we had in our closet, or that we wish we could do in our home. Sometimes actually making that happen isn’t always possible because that outfit might be too expensive or you aren’t sure where you can get the products (at a reasonable price!) to recreate the look in your living room. We are here to help with our #MagazineMatch. When we see some decor in a magazine that we think you might like, and we have similar products, we are going to put it together for you and with a KP twist!
The Inspiration
We came across the above picture in the Inspiration Gallery on the Country Sampler website. We loved the simple country charm of its use of watering cans to make a patriotic display. It will be great for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day or even year-round because Americana is in style across all seasons! All the products we used are for indoor use only, so find a nice little corner in your house for it, maybe a mantel, or you can put watering cans in different areas and it doesn’t have to be a trio display.

Materials Needed:
Watering cans are perfect for displaying florals and picking a watering can with just the right finish will complete the country farmhouse look that we love. We went with our large galvanized watering can but it is all about the look you are wanting to achieve and your personal tastes. Take a look at some other great options here, you might like a rusty watering can, bucket, or milk can better.
The floral options for this are truly endless and you can really let your personality shine with the types of flowers you choose! What makes florals in a display like this so fun is that you can easily switch them out based on the season and don’t really have to change much else once you get a setup you love. Since we are getting Fourth of July ready we went with a beautiful, red geranium bush, rusty star spray, and tea stained American flag. We have two other flags that will look great nestled in some florals: American flag on a stick and a vintage Betsy Ross flag.
Depending where in your home you are setting up the display, there are other add-ons that would be excellent options to make the area really stand out. Since we have ours on a bench, we added a garland to the back of the bench. We felt our Country Mix pip garland would look best with its burgundy, ivory, and navy pips. It really adds an extra touch of the Americana look we love! Maybe even a barn star on the wall behind where you put your watering cans will look great too!
To make one of the cans stand out a little more and add some symmetry, we removed the rusty star spray from the middle watering can and replaced it with the burlap star pick. We also moved the tea stained American flag to the middle watering can. Stars are a fun, easy way to add a patriotic feel to your decor and we love these burlap ones. The burlap colored stars add some great texture and give a nice rustic touch. We have a large selection of patriotic florals for you to browse so you can add your own custom touch.
Red, White, and Blue
We were so happy when we stepped back and took in the view of our completed display! We hope you like it too! If you recreate this look at home, be sure to send us a picture! We’d also love to see what KP products you currently have in your home that is Americana style. Are there any looks you want to see us give a KP Creek makeover in our #MagazineMatch?
