Design a Welcoming Porch

With consistent warm weather on the horizon, I felt compelled to design a welcoming porch. It is a great area to relax, read, and visit with friends! This arrangement would also be perfect for a bigger entryway, or your front room. So let’s talk design!

Choose Your Staple Pieces

The only thing you need to already have is a place to sit; a bench, love seat, couch, chairs, etc. KP has everything else you need to create the perfect ambience! After you decide your seating arrangements, next would be a table of some kind. You could use side tables, coffee table, etc. I decided to go with the small Square Top Table that KP sells for $49.69.

The side table is handmade in the USA! It has a black painted finish and distressed edges revealing the natural wood color. It is a great neutral piece of furniture that will mesh well with all decor styles.

The table measures 29″ high by 11″ square which makes it an excellent size for resting your drinks, stacking your magazines, or displaying additional decor. All you need can easily be within arm’s reach with this side table nearby.

Add Personal Touches

This is your space and ideally, you will spend a lot of time here, so decorate with things you love. I like neutrals, pops of color, farmhouse style, and the occasional seasonal/holiday accent. With all of those likes in mind, I designed this:

What do you think? The Patriotic Patch Pillow pays homage to Memorial Day and 4th of July! I would love to see what you’ve done with your patios, and porches so please send me an email or message the KP Facebook page!

Duplicating this look

If you’re having a hard time deciding how you want to design your space, no worries! You can easily duplicate what I did. The first thing I decided was what I wanted on the wall. I think adding bright florals and greenery is a must for any room. Purple is one of my favorite colors, and I found that the Eucalyptus Lavender Berry Ring fit nicely in the Round Tobacco Basket. And the simplicity of the Bless this Nest Sign really completed the look of the wall.

I added another pop of purple under the Wire Birdcage on the side table. The Lavender Potted Star Daisy is the perfect size for the hanging cement pot that comes with the birdcage. Add your favorite flowers and picks to make the birdcage eye-catching.

I love the Welcome Home Wall Art With Pineapple Design! Not only are pineapples my favorite fruit but I love the clean and modern look, and the way the light teal pops against the dark gray wood. Did you know that pineapples are more than a delicious fruit? They are also the symbol for hospitality! That is why you might have noticed it on lots of welcome signs, door mats, and other decor pieces!

Now Time to Relax!

Grab a book or call a friend, and pour a cool beverage to get in a relaxing mindset. You officially designed your mini oasis for the summer!  Utilize it as much as you can and get that coveted “me time!” Oh and before you go, here are a few more tips for creating a perfect patio.

What are some of your must-haves for the summer? Tell me in the comments!
